Surprise!
AUTHOR : R The film titles roll and I stretch, taking my arm off of where it has been holding you as you have had your head and hand on my chest for the last hour as we’ve had our attention focussed within a fantasy realm. I shift forward as you reluctantly move but you pout a little at being disturbed. “Would you like a drink?” I ask as I get up. “Mmmmm, do we have any of that wine left?” you reply as I’m walking towards the kitchen. “I’m pretty sure we do, let me check” and with that I leave the room. I don’t turn on the light, instead I rely on the fridge and the glow from the readouts on the various appliances in order to see. I sneak a grape from the fridge and let the cold sweetness fill my mouth as I find the bottle I’m looking for. I hold it up to make out the level and say to myself quietly “yeah, that’ll do!” I close the fridge and take a glass down from the shelf before very carefully pouring you a glass, mindful I don’t spill any in this half light.
